The Village: 400 Years of Beats and Bohemians, Radicals and Rogues - John Strausbaugh

I have been really lucky lately that Bookbub has been featuring books that are not appealing to me at all. My TBR pile has remained steady (huge, overwhelming but steady). Today I did pick up this book, and want to share it with you if you have any interest in the history of NYC or micro-history in general.

I am finding that micro-history books on about almost any topic is appealing more to me than big books on big topics. I am guessing this change in historical interest is in part wanting more details, less "how this event impacted man's history for the rest of time" analysis.

ETA: The book is on sale for $1.99 at most major e-retailers. Normal price for the ebook is $13.99. Sale ends July 20th.
