Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal - Eric Schlosser

A good book. I learned new things about the fast food industry and the US government, but some of this stuff I already knew. Some of the writing went off on topics that had little to nothing to do with the topic being discussed but were used to create atmosphere or invoke emotional response. For example, the idea of teens in Colorado wearing clothing styles other than cowboy/rancher styles and the young Germans in Saxony are taking the whole cowboy/cowgirl lifestyle in didn't mean crap to me. The book was published in 2001 so some of the things discussed have been changed or reformed, and the focus was on Regan and Clinton administrations, so it feels a tad dated. Still, I found the book an important read. 3.5 stars.
