Final Catcall - Sofie Kelly

Fills in the Black Cat square

Although this is book five and I haven't read any other book in the series, I felt at ease with the world building and the relationships among the recurring characters. There was a certain amount of magical realism in this story without it going into paranormal territory (all thanks to the cats Hercules and Owen, whose owner is the MC sleuth of the series). The cats were the best characters. The book did not need the quasi-love triangle and I had hoped the ex-fiancé was the killer (no dice there) just to be rid of him completely (apparently Andrew can not accept no for an answer to any question). The mystery was very predictable but enjoyable. 3 stars.
