Curiosity Thrilled the Cat - Sofie Kelly

Although this is the first book in the series, it is the third book I have read. Turns out the relationship between Kathleen and Marcus starts off s-l-o-w-l-y. Also Marcus is not that much of a detective in this book and Kathleen isn't as observant as she is in the later books. The cats were, once again, the best part of story, along with Roma, Maggie, and Oren. I liked learning that Kathleen did not always accept the cats magical abilities (Own can disappear and Hercules can walk through walls). The storyline once again centered around a town festival, leaving me with the impression that this small town in Minnosota doesn't need much of an excuse to party, lol. I did not get much of an impression of murder victim before his untimely death, so I did not care much after he was killed; however, I did like that fact that the killer was long-time resident and not an outsider. It was nice to see where the series started. Off to read book two.
