When Snow Falls - Brenda Novak

Cheyanne Christensen is having one hell of a bad life. Her mother is dying of cancer and is a bitter, manipulative bitch; her sister is wild and on drugs half the time; she is in secretly in love with the same guy her BFF is actively chasing; and it's Christmas, so the artificial cheerfulness of the season is just annoying cherry on top. I really liked Cheyanne - she had every right to be a horrible person, but she is a smart, sweet, hard-working, and loyal person. So when Dylan Amos, of the infamous Amos brothers, walks into her life the chaos gets straighten out somewhat and Cheyanne finds someone she can be real with.

I love Cheyanne and Dylan! They were real adults navigating the ups and downs of a relationship while dealing with their families' reputations from the rest of the small town and their prejudices. I feel they really deserved their HEA. The only part of the romance I didn't like was their first time together; Cheyanne's reasons for being a 31 year old virgin were true to her character so her ripping off her clothes so quickly seemed out of character. I really liked reading a romance between two people without money being thrown around to show "charm" and "romance".

I didn't care for anyone else in this story. Eve, Chey's BFF, was too obnoxious and preaching her prejudice in the hopes of breaking up Chey and Dylan. Joe was a bitter asshole and I am really not looking forward to his story later in the series. Piper, Chey's sister, had a heartbreaking story arc but I would like to see her in updates in later books but man was she a selfish brat to Chey!
